About US
Traditional flight training often feels like a rigid assembly line. Waypoint Aviation was founded to break that mold, redesigning flight instruction into a modern, human-centered partnership. We combine one-on-one mentorship with total pricing transparency and adaptive scheduling that fits your actual life.
Whether you are taking your very first discovery flight or mastering advanced IFR procedures, we strip away the traditional aviation friction so you can focus on what matters most: becoming a confident, safe, and analytical pilot.

Meet the founder
I'm Miranda!
I’m Miranda Hinojosa, a Certified Flight Instructor, commercial pilot, and proud mother dedicated to helping others find their path in aviation. My journey into this industry wasn’t traditional or easy, but it’s what shaped the way I teach and mentor today.
I began flight training in 2022 and went on to earn my Private, Instrument, and Commercial certificates in an accelerated timeline while balancing full-time responsibilities and motherhood. Along the way, I faced financial challenges and delays with my medical certification, which tested my resilience and forced me to stay disciplined, resourceful, and committed to my goals. Those experiences gave me a deep understanding of what many aspiring pilots go through, especially those who may not see a clear or accessible path into aviation.
As a former K-12 educator, I bring an adaptable classroom perspective into every lesson. Today, as a Certified Flight Instructor I don’t just focus on helping students pass a checkride—I focus on building confident, capable, and safety-minded pilots who understand the “why” behind what they’re doing. I take a personalized approach to instruction, meeting each student where they are and creating a structured plan that supports their learning style and long-term goals.
Beyond instruction, I’m deeply passionate about mentorship and outreach. I actively support and guide students, aspiring pilots, and members of my community—especially women and underrepresented groups—who are looking to break into aviation. I know firsthand how powerful it is to have someone in your corner, and I strive to be that support for others.
Waypoint Aviation is an extension of that mission. It’s not just about flight training—it’s about providing clarity, structure, and encouragement so that anyone with the drive to pursue aviation feels confident taking that first step and continuing forward.
